Volunteer with the Pauli Murray Center

The Pauli Murray Center is excited to collaborate with volunteers on a number of events and projects. While we do not have consistent or weekly opportunities, there are many events and activities where volunteers can lend their gifts and talents. See below for the opportunity that fits you best!

Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Individual volunteers are an essential part of big events at the Pauli Murray Center! Fill out the form below to get notified about opportunities to set up for big events and festivals, table at Pride or Black History Month events, and more.

Please note that our need for volunteers varies by season - summer is especially busy, where as there are very few opportunities in the winter time. If you don’t receive an email right away, don’t worry! There may just not be an upcoming opportunity where we need support.

Volunteers with Special Skills

Do you have a special skill that you think would benefit the Pauli Murray Center? Reach out to info@paulimurraycenter.org to share how you’d like to help. Examples of volunteers who are volunteering with specific skills include photographers, videographers, and proofreaders.

Group Volunteering

We are pleased to offer opportunities for groups of 12 or fewer people to assist with deep cleaning of Pauli Murray’s childhood home. As a small nonprofit, we do not hire cleaning services and our staff does all of the day to day cleaning. Every few months, we've been grateful to have folks come in and magic erase the baseboards, dust exhibits, deep clean floors, and more. Volunteer groups also receive a free semi-guided tour of Pauli Murray’s childhood home. Note that we cannot offer volunteer opportunities on Saturdays mornings because we are open to the public during that time.

Please reach out to info@paulimurraycenter.org to inquire about group volunteer opportunities.
